Established in 1979, TarraWarra Estate (TWE) is a family-owned estate and wine company, operating at the forefront of Yarra Valley wine production and hospitality. The TWE philosophy has always been rooted in respect for excellence, provenance and sustainability, with a vision to produce wines of great quality and integrity, amidst a location of beauty and welcome.
The TWE business comprises a 28-hectare vineyard; an estate-grown wine portfolio led by Pinot and Chardonnay; a premium, small-batch wine production facility; and an award-winning, high visitation venue, encompassing a 'hatted' restaurant and an architecturally designed cellar door. Generational change presents an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and successful executive manager, to steer one of Australia's most respected, luxury wine estates into a new era and to new heights of quality, brand positioning and financial success.
Based at the Estate and reporting to the owners and their representatives, this is a leadership role that will be the face of the TWE brand. The role will be responsible for the performance, efficiency and success of all areas of the business by developing and driving all TWE business strategies and operations, with particular focus on wine sales, brand strategy and venue profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Business and brand strategy
- Leading and mentoring the vineyard and winery teams to drive quality, innovation and operational efficiency
- Wine sales and inventory management, targeting growth of the direct-to-consumer opportunity
- Maximising venue profitability, via the development of events and functions business
- Direction of all marketing, promotion and branding strategies, to secure position, amplify recognition and increase the demand for both TWE wines and the hospitality venue
- TWE site management
- Company advocacy, ambassadorship and public representation Key qualifications and desirable experience
Desired experience
- Proven, significant accomplishment in a similar, hands-on management role
- Tertiary or post-graduate qualifications in business management and/or administration
- A wine industry background
- Demonstrable and strategic sales experience, preferably in the food & beverage, hospitality or luxury goods industries
- An understanding of hospitality operations and management
