About The Role
The Community Engagement Officer supports meaningful engagement between the City of Hobart and its communities.
You will help deliver consistent, high-quality engagement across diverse projects, ensuring community voices are heard and valued.
Role Accountabilities Include
Represent the City at events and engagement activities
Advise project teams on planning and delivering effective engagement.
Promote inclusive participation through diverse engagement methods
Collaborate with Communications to raise awareness of engagement initiatives
Develop clear, engaging content for plans, reports and Your Say Hobart
Analyse engagement data and produce reports for the Council
Support the Senior Advisor in advancing best practice engagement.

A diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or Social Sciences, supported by relevant experience in community engagement
Proven ability to plan and deliver contemporary engagement methodologies across diverse projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing detailed reports and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
A sound understanding of cultural diversity and inclusion principles, with a commitment to equitable and respectful engagement.
A current Drivers Licence and registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
