**Mad About Science In Schools is currently seeking a science educator/communicator for casual science presentations, or incursions, to primary school students and other audiences.**

In this unique role you will deliver fun educational workshops, enjoy the flexibility of working school hours, meet new people and inspire a whole new generation of budding scientists

Training and all the materials required to conduct quality curriculum-aligned science workshops throughout Melbourne and Victoria is provided. Topics covered include: chemical, physical, biological, STEM and earth and space sciences.

**The successful applicant must be friendly, enthusiastic and energetic, relate well to children of all ages, have outstanding verbal communication skills, be extremely organised and have a strong interest in science. They must be a self starter who is also comfortable with promotional activities.**

Qualified early learning and school teachers experienced in classroom management will be looked on favourably, but a teaching degree is not essential. Availability on some weekends and during the school term holidays is an advantage.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Prepared and able to travel throughout Melbourne and regions;
- Teaching experience or child related qualification (not essential);
- Strong interest in science and/or a science degree;
- Outstanding verbal communication skills;
- Ability to communicate science clearly and accurately, in an engaging and relevant way;
- Have a friendly, flexible and personable demeanour;
- Access to transport;
- Ability to store presentation equipment at home;
- Current Working With Children Check; and
- Be vaccinated against Covid-19.
