**Position Information**:
The NSW Department of Education provides, funds and regulates education services for NSW students from early childhood to secondary school, delivering world-class education through its public schools and providing funding support to non-government schools. We employ, develop and support teachers, leaders and other staff to deliver the best outcomes for students and to advance the wellbeing of Aboriginal people.

**About the Role**

The Community Liaison Officer supports schools in building vibrant, tolerant and harmonious school communities. The Community Liaison Officer works to support school communities in the development of approaches to improve social, emotional, health and educational outcomes for students.

**Talent Pool**

**The CLO role is the community hub leader at Hoxton Park PS.**

**The community hub leader at Hoxton Park PS will have the following role and key responsibilities**:

- Support participation in hub, school and community activities by linking to appropriate information, programs and services.
- Advocate for family needs or issues.
- Organise activities, programs or events in response to family needs and interests, consistent with the objectives of the National Community Hub Program.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with Community Hub Leaders, school staff, community members, services, funding agencies and early years' networks operating at the local level to support the needs of families.
- Create opportunities to develop community programs that build the capacity of parents/caregivers and families to participate in the development and life of the Community Hub and general community.
- Develop and implement a Hub work plan in line with school priorities, contractual obligations and program outcomes; and associated administration and periodical reporting tasks, as required.
- Ensure all facilitators and volunteers engaged in Community Hub activities comply with relevant policies and procedures including working with children and police checks.

Hoxton Park Public School has serviced the educational needs of a largely rural community for more than 125 years, but is now a fast growing primary school situated in the rapidly expanding suburban developments of west Liverpool. The school has been at its current site for 10 years and possesses state-of-the-art facilities. Hoxton Park Public School is a dynamic learning community which focuses on collaboration, underpinned by outstanding literacy practise fused with authentic learning.
