**About The Opportunity**
The purpose of the role is to lead in the design, development and operations of Council's business process management and improvement methodologies and the alignment of capabilities into Council's operations. Some of your responsibilities will include.
- Application of appropriate project management methodologies
- Detailed scoping and development of project management plans, including setting of clear objectives
- Securing of appropriate resources / partners to support delivery
- Establishment and management of relevant steering committees and working groups
- Management of the agreed work schedule, ensuring appropriate allocation of activities and setting of milestone targets
- Effective and efficient use of available resources
- Identification of both strategic and operational risks and implementation of appropriate mitigation actions
- Preparation and presentation of progress reports at regular intervals to various stakeholders.
- Represent the Branch as the lead for the Busines Process Excellence service offerings and associated projects.
- Provide high level, professional, specialist services, such as:
- Specialist business process excellence advice based on research, analysis and review of stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Conduct high level analysis of Council's systems, processes, information and reports in line with best practice to inform business case/s.
- Lead and manage onboarding and training and the associated quality of process knowledge within Councils process repository.
- Successfully and positively motivate and lead multi-disciplinary project teams to collectively deliver outcomes and proactively share information.
- Develop and provide a mentoring capability to project team members and key improvement staff throughout the organisation.
- Display effective and engaging interpersonal skills to ensure complex concepts can be communicated in plain language to all stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders through robust engagement, a collaborative approach, strategic negotiation and providing trusted expert advice.
- Develop, implement and manage a range of appropriate communication channels to ensure regular and consistent messaging is delivered to all stakeholders.
- Coordinate high level meetings and lead discussions on set agendas. Ensure agreed decisions from meetings are clearly documented and actioned.
- Ensure all correspondence and documentation produced is properly referenced and captured for proper record keeping requirements and to ensure ease of recovery.
- Be proactive in exploring innovative and creative approaches to communicate activities or deliver quality information or documentation.
**About You**
- Degree qualifications and/or significant relevant experience ideally in a business management discipline.
- Substantial demonstrable experience and skills in governance and managing programs and all aspects of project management, ideally on a similarly sized organization.
- Significant demonstrable experience and skills in the development, management, and implementation of business process and improvement frameworks.
- Highly developed conceptual, research, analytical and problem solving skills including a demonstrated ability to prepare and present accurate and timely analyses and reports.
- Detailed knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the local government sector and ability to professionally work with both organizational staff and elected representatives.
- Demonstrated advanced communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated experience in influencing organizational change to adopt contemporary management.
- Technical experience in overseeing the development of reporting and analysis of data for decision making purposes.
- Strong time management skills and self-motivation and the ability to remain innovative and forward thinking.
- Must have a current Class C Driver License.
