Day Shift Manager – Opal Fibre Packaging
We have a new opportunity available for a Day Shift Manager at the Opal Fibre Packaging site in Athol Park, SA.
At this site we manufacture an innovative range of corrugated boxes and specialised cardboard packaging for some of the largest brands in the grocery, wine & fresh produce markets.
We have approximately 100 team members at this site working across 2 shifts.
This role will manage the day shift which runs from 7am – 3pm.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will contribute to the success of Opal by;
Ensuring production targets are met for the day shift by providing support and direction to your team
Driving a sustainable operation with a focus on continuous improvement
Delivering all safety, quality and production targets in accordance with quality standards
Fostering a supportive environment for your team focused on engaging team members, creating an inclusive and respectful workplace
This is a critical role within Opal's Operational Leadership community and the successful candidate will compliment us by bringing;
Previous experience in a people and operations leadership role within manufacturing
Well-developed organisational skills, experience effectively negotiating, influencing, problem solving, planning, making decisions, goal setting, and coaching
An unwavering focus on safety, developing a 'no injuries' culture through personal commitment and leadership
Effective cost management experience, through negotiation of charges and cost control in operational areas
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
