
Principal Data Analyst

In addition to technical responsibilities, the role requires active collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define reporting requirements, develop innovative solutions to complex business problems, and mentor colleagues through knowledge-sharing initiatives. The position also entails managing sensitive and time-critical tasks while adhering to Queensland Health's service quality standards, health and safety policies, and core values. Maintaining professional development and implementing reporting procedures will be essential to ensuring efficient, accurate, and forward-thinking data services.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of data and databases, such as the Notifiable Conditions System (NoCS) or other similar health information or licensing systems. Additionally, you should have proven experience in reporting on large and complex data sets, with proficiency in tools like relational database management systems, data exploration, visualization and dashboard tools, as well as data analysis and automation software.
You should also have demonstrated expertise in critically analyzing and interpreting data to identify patterns and trends. This includes the ability to transform raw data into meaningful, actionable insights. The role requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively with both internal staff and external stakeholders at all levels.
