Weir Minerals are looking for a Leading Hand to join our Warehouse at Perth Airport

As part of the Warehouse and Logistics team, a Leading Hand contributes to the efficient and effective distribution of our components and products by handling materials, controlling inventory, picking, packing and organising transportation.

As a Leading Hand, you will be responsible for supervising staff, being hands on with daily tasks, liaising with the customer support team around freight enquiries and general warehouse duties.

Responsibilities of the role
- Picking product by hand, utilising Material Handling Equipment or mechanical aids
- Packaging or repackaging of outbound consignments, including labelling and packing to customer specific packaging requirements
- Utilisation of hand tools including but not limited to; nail guns, hammers, strappers, crow bars, staple guns and labeller's.
- Utilising our Weir systems to control stock movement including receipt, put-away, picking and dispatch
- Utilisation of RF scanners
- Liaise with other departments, service providers and internal stakeholders, relative to stock movement, transport or warehousing, when required
- Operation of Material Handling Equipment, inclusive of on pavement forklifts and high reach trucks
- Loading and unloading of various truck types
- Supervising staff
- Communicating with customer support around freight enquiries

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience working in a Warehouse
- Experience working in Retail or FMCG is also desirable
- Exceptional organisational, communication and time management skills
- Forklift Ticket
