Our client is on the lookout for their next superstar Platform Lead to join their highly skilled and highly motivated team

This is a full-time role, in Brisbane

As a Platform Lead you will be responsible for the coaching and mentoring of the team, as well as leading key technical decisions. Ensuring that solutions are at the right level of scalable and fast, for the issue at hand, in collaboration with the product and design team. Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you'll ensure your team is motivated and know what they're doing day-to-day while helping to guide your team in their career and development.

**The Role**:
Here's a sneak peek at your day-to-day:

- Manage their AWS environments and provide overarching leadership on standards, governance, and design patterns, whilst ensuring they are taking every opportunity to optimise their costs through effective design decisions and patterns.
- Leverage industry best practices and technological innovations to provide solutions that contribute to increased IT operational efficiency.
- Research concepts, conduct special studies, and lead the development of proofs-of-concept based on Cloud technology to exploit new opportunities to optimise the effectiveness and efficiency of the IT and DevOps landscape.
- Work collaboratively across the various teams within digital and IT and champion department-wide solutions and processes with the individual groups.
- Provide technical leadership for proposed and in-flight deliveries ensuring that the right resources, patterns, solutions, and any relevant risk mitigations are in place to ensure sustainable growth of the digital and IT portfolio.
- Collaborate with extended technology teams to share successes, failures and opportunities and participate and contribute to existing technical forums.

**Experience**:

- At least 5 years' experience managing technical teams
- At least 5 years' experience with large-scale infrastructure designs, implementation, and support.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in managing 3rd party vendors and contract negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to work across virtual and regionally dispersed team to achieve outcomes, deadlines, and business value.
- Budget / fiscal management experience
- Demonstrated high level ability to prioritise activities and work within tight timeframes to deliver on challenging objectives
- Able to delegate, motivate and influence senior managers
- Design, build and deployment of automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS, Azure or GCP with a strong preference towards current AWS experience.

**Salary**:
$200k - $250k + super (commensurate with experience)
