About the RoleWe have an opportunity for a Safety Auditor to join our fast-paced Internal Audit team.
This role will be crucial to the safety audit team providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services to add value and improve operations across the Endeavour Group of companies.Be part of a diverse, collaborative, high performing team to deliver the annual audit plan (individual site and safety systems audits)The position can be located at our Head office in Sydney or office in Melbourne.Sounds good?
Read on.Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:The Safety Auditor - Stores & Hotels' primary objective is to support the delivery of Internal Audit (IA) objectives, which are:Reporting to the Safety Audit Manager - Stores & Hotels, you will support the delivery of IA objectives, which are providing independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to add value and improve the organisation's operationsYou will also bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and test the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management and governance processesThis is achieved predominantly through leading and conducting assurance engagements, supporting management in delivering the annual audit plan, and providing coaching to team membersThe primary objective of this role is to support the leadership team in the development, planning and management of the Safety, Health & Wellbeing Assurance Program and provide independent and objective assurance of compliance with processes and procedures, strategies, plans and objectivesThis role will also ensure that safety, health and workers compensation self insurance licence requirements are met in line with Board and State licensing requirementsThe Safety Auditor will also provide advisory services and promote continuous improvement in safety performance and safety management systems within the Endeavour Group.The above is achieved in this role predominantly through supporting the leadership team in the delivery of the Safety Internal Audit Plan with a taste of key accountabilities:Support the business maintain Safety, Health and Wellbeing and Injury Management Self Insurance Licence through completion of operational and National Audit Tool (NAT) system auditsSupport the Senior Manager / Audit Manager develop and maintain the national safety audit assurance program across retail stores and hotelsLead the execution of high risk store / hotel safety audits and system management audits identifying and assessing key risks in operational controlsSupport with the development and maintenance of the audit schedule using a risk based approach that factors in performance, risks, previous audit results and regulatory enforcementPresent audit findings in both written and verbal format to clearly communicate to various levels of management including the Audit and Risk CommitteeSupport team members to achieve a level of engagement with the business which promotes IA as a trusted advisorIdentify, recommend and support operational improvement of IA's own processes and toolsAct as an ambassador for IA during assignments, whilst engaging with various levels of management to facilitate achievement of IA objectivesTaking initiative to achieve and evolve on IA deliverables.What do we need from youNow let's talk about you:Certificate IV (as a minimum) in Safety, Health and Wellbeing (Diploma in WHS is highly desirable)Experience with equivalent position being Senior Safety Adviser / Auditor / with Environment, Health and Safety / operational audit experience (Highly Desirable)Experience in auditing Safety, Health and Wellbeing Management Systems (Desirable)Proficient in the Australian Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Desirable)Current or previous experience working within a Self Insurance Licence organisation ( Desirable)Previous operational experience in retail stores and or hotels (Desirable)Ability to provide recommendations for integrating Safety, Health and Wellbeing management systems into business practicesStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications to both business and store and hotel operations as requiredAbility to interpret and analyse dataAbility to work with teams of auditors and managersAbility to build strong relationships with business stakeholdersStrong problem solving aptitude, with an attention to detail.Must be available to travel interstate once a month for a 5 day period (1 week)Tool of Trade (vehicle) providedWhat's in it for you?
