**About the Assignment**

The Santos Upstream PNG Operations Division has responsibility for safe, reliable and sustainable production and efficient operations of our operated and non-operated reserves in PNG, including regulatory approvals, reporting, JV interfaces and relations with the communities and landowner leaders in our operational footprint.

The PNG Operations Division is fully enabled, with clear ownership and accountability of stakeholder management, people and culture, business performance and project delivery, serviced by the Centre.

Within the PNG Operations Division, the PNG Development and Projects department supports the Project Delivery Process (PDP) for pre-FEED stage Major Capital Projects and all project phases for smaller to medium size projects.

This Project Services group centrally supports the PNG project portfolio, with this role initially supporting the KPS FSO Project.

**Tasks include**:
The Planner / Project Controls position is responsible for assisting the project team with project controls support, including planning and scheduling, progress measurement, change management and reporting. The Planner / Project Controls position will initially provide assistance to the KPS FSO Project, reporting to the KPS FSO Project Controls Lead and working closely with the Senior Cost Engineer and Project Management Team to assist in all facets of the Project Controls requirements. They will also play an integral role in supporting the project, including liaising with various consultants and contractors, and within Santos to help ensure the project's meet their cost and schedule objectives.
- Work closely with the Project Services Manager and the Project Management Team to assist with the stewardship of all areas of Project Controls, and develop insightful reporting on cost, schedule, progress, risks and issues for the KPS FSO Project;
- Takeover and administer the project's planning and scheduling requirements, including managing the master schedule in the Primavera database, and ensuring progress is accurately measured and reported in a timely manner;
- Assist in preparing project controls deliverables and requirements for the Santos assurance process, actively assisting the KPS FSO Project to gate into Execution through a Final Investment Decision (FID);
- Support the set-up of the main contracts (FSO Bareboat Charter and Subsea ePCI), ensuring the Contractor's processes and systems are adequately established and project teams set up for success;
- Support the project input into the periodic budget processes within PNG Operations Division;
- Monitoring, analysis and reporting of costs vs. budget, including preparation of trends and forecasts;
- Administer the Change Management process for the project;
- Help identify cost-overrun risks and their root cause and recommend mitigations;
- Provide support to ensure all finance related administrative issues are raised and actioned in a timely manner;
- Support preparation of the Project Monthly Report by compiling information from within the project team, and via the Contractors; and,
- Provide assistance in administering the project's controls requirements via Santos required software (Primavera, PRISM, PIMS, etc).

**This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.**

**Location for this assignment is Brisbane working full-time office hours**

**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or related discipline;
- Familiarity with project controls software including cost control and scheduling packages is beneficial.
- Understanding of project controls tasks required on a project;
- Willingness to learn and take a proactive role in assisting the project team, with the view to developing further experience in managing capital projects for upstream oil and gas facilities;
- Experience with planning and scheduling, particularly in Primavera, is desirable;
- Proficient in oral and written communications and high-level presentation skills/ experience;
- Effective interpersonal skills required to interact with others both above and below in seniority; and,
- Strong Excel and database experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant Project Controls (or similar) role;
- Exposure to extractive industries with oil and gas experience considered a distinct advantage; and,
- Experience with large capital projects desirable.
