Adventure Team is seeking new disability support workers/mentors to join our growing team in Glenfield, New South Wales. We are advertising for a casual support role with availability to start immediately. This would suit someone looking for additional hours from their current work, someone looking for limited hours, or somebody willing to let hours build over time as they gain more experience in the role. This would be between 6-10 hours per week initially. Unconventional experience welcome

Since forming in 2019, we've grown from a team of 2 on the Gold Coast in Queensland to many. We are a disability support company, helping people living with disabilities through providing mentoring, group and respite services. As a team we are strongly driven to help others and offer personalised services centred around pushing boundaries, building hobbies and routine, and encouraging adventure.

**About the Opportunity**

We provide a fun and flexible environment where no two days are the same. Adventure is at the heart of who we are and we love to operate outdoors and encourage our clients to discover their own passions and interests.

As a mentor, you will be supporting our clients with daily living and community access, as well as occasional overnight respite and weekends away (if interested). We provide support in a variety of settings covering a broad range of needs and we work to ensure we match you, your interests, availability and skillset to the right person.

**Requirements**:

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain before commencing work
- Working With Children Check
- Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- Current, non-restricted open drivers licence or non-restricted provisional licence
- Roadworthy, registered and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
- First Aid and CPR

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Alignment with our holistic approach to services, built on a love for the outdoors, adventure and being active.
- **Ability to hike or experience with hiking trails in and around Sydney.**:

- **Trauma informed care or a willingness to learn and complete a course.**:

- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve effectively under high stress situations.
- High level of interpersonal skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate in a professional and compassionate manner with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. **English proficiency in written and verbal is a must.**:

- Ability to work autonomously, use your own initiative and be both proactive and adaptable.
- Experience is favourable although not necessary.

- Competitive above award rate for weekdays, plus additional penalty rates for weekends and public holidays

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 8 per week

Schedule:

- Shift work
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- Support Work: 1 year (preferred)
- hiking or outdoor sports: 1 year (preferred)
