**Job Profile summary**:
**As the Engineering and Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering and technical functions within our organization. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to ensure efficient project execution, technical excellence, and adherence to industry standards. Your primary focus will be on managing engineering activities related to the terminal business.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to drive high performance and achievement of targets.**
- ** Oversee all engineering and technical aspects of projects, from design and development to implementation and commissioning.**
- ** Manage the selection, definition, scoping and design of identified projects based on client requests, government conditions of consent, Vopak Standards and other identified quality requirements**
- ** Ensure project consultants, constructors and engineering resources are identified, sourced and contracted as required**
- ** Manage and control key suppliers for all projects through performance appraisal and reviews**
- ** Source contractor resources and ensure global agreements are understood and implemented**
- ** Manage the completion of Management of Change for all project changes**
- ** Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring timely delivery of projects within approved parameters.**
- ** Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to enhance production processes, improve safety, and reduce costs.**
- ** Ensure the efficient document controls**
- ** Assist the Vopak team in satisfying customer needs by providing technical feasibility studies and cost estimates for proposed modifications or potential projects**
- ** Technical liaison with customers for business development or customer service improvement**
- ** Ensure Projects comply with government, port authority, Australian and Vopak standards and best practices affecting Vopak businesses**
- ** Ensure the development, review and updating of Vopak project engineering procedures, standards and specifications**
- ** Oversee required technical audits when required (internal and external) to ensure compliance**
- ** Review Management of Change requests to ensure engineering requirements have been included on all Vopak Australia sites**
- ** Prepare and present technical reports, project proposals, and progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders, providing clear and concise information regarding project status, risks, and opportunities.**
- ** Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies for engineering and technical operations, ensuring proactive measures are in place to minimize potential hazards and operational disruptions.**
- ** Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely procurement of equipment and materials required for engineering projects.**
**You also have**:
- ** Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum) or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred**
- ** Minimum of 5-10 years relevant work experience in engineering and technical management in relevant industries;**
- ** Project Management Qualification (PMP or similar) is desirable**
- ** Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze technical issues and develop innovative solutions.**
- ** Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders.**
- ** Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.**
- ** Knowledge of safety and environmental laws and regulations;**
