The Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) at Macquarie University is home to the University's cross-disciplinary activities in the broad area of health and human sciences and practice and a core part of Australia's first fully integrated academic health sciences centre, MQ Health. With a purpose of Heal. Learn. Discover., MQ Health seeks to harness the power of collaboration to deliver person-centred clinical care, learning and research. The Faculty is now seeking to appoint a Dean of Medicine and Head of the Macquarie Medical School, an innovative school comprising clinical and biomedical science academics.

Working closely with Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Medicine and Health) Professor Patrick McNeil, and with other heads of schools and departments within the Faculty, the Dean will play a key leadership role in planning, developing and implementing innovative strategy in medical education, research and academic clinical practice both within the Faculty and MQ Health. The Dean will enable multidisciplinary collaborations and play an active role in collaborating with researchers, educators or professionals across the Faculty and wider academic community.

Macquarie is seeking a visionary leader who can unite and inspire a diverse group of colleagues and create a culture of high performance. This person will bring with them successful leadership and management experience within academia and healthcare and be skilled at leading and enabling the development of initiatives at a school level in a collegial and collaborative manner. They will have demonstrated academic leadership in their discipline, with recognition as an eminent authority, an exceptional track record of scholarship in research or education, and a strong profile with current and prospective partners in healthcare, industry, government and student organisations.
