About the role

As the Academic Dean at Southern Academy of Higher Education, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic strategy and direction of this esteemed university. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for overseeing the institution's academic programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and driving continuous improvement across the curriculum. With a strong focus on academic excellence, you will work closely with faculty, staff and students to foster a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the university's academic programs and initiatives
  • Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of academic policies, procedures and standards
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and enhance curriculum, learning outcomes and teaching methodologies
  • Manage the recruitment, development and performance of academic staff
  • Represent the university's academic interests to external stakeholders, such as accrediting bodies and industry partners
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning
  • Ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations and legislation
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction and decision-making of the university

What we're looking for

  • Doctoral degree in a relevant academic field
  • Extensive experience in academic leadership, with a proven track record of driving positive change and achieving results
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of academic leadership experience required
  • Deep understanding of higher education, including curriculum development, teaching and learning, and academic governance
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex academic challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence, innovation and student success
