The position will support, improve and automate software programs used as database and scientific tools within laboratories and oversee high performance and virtual and cloud computing used within the facility.
With great communication skills you will assist and train scientists with integrating next generation sequencing equipment with high throughput analysis computing tools.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described under 'your key responsibilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated knowledge of UNIX like operating systems and command line operated software.
- Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java etc).
- Demonstrated expertise with bioinformatic analysis and pipelines. Familiarity with metagenomic data sets would be viewed favourably.
- Experience with high performance computing including cloud computing and database management.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy in a multidisciplinary team, while prioritising workload and meeting deadlines.
- Experience or knowledge in the bioinformatic analysis and LIMS related next generation sequencing workflow of bacterial and/or viral genomes is desirable.
