What We're Looking For.We're seeking a practical, hands-on Senior Data Scientist, who thrives by building real, deployable solutions, not just experiments in notebooks.
You should be energised by challenges, excited about rapid prototyping, and confident learning new technologies as needed, along with the below:Solid ML FundamentalsStrong grasp of foundational ML concepts (classification/regression, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, training vs. inference, overfitting, etc.)Comfortable designing and training custom deep learning models with slightly novel architecturesExperienced with scikit-learn; practical experience with deep learning frameworks (preferably PyTorch or TensorFlow)Strong Python Coding SkillsProficiency in object-oriented programming (classes, methods, inheritance)Good understanding of essential coding practices, including proper exception handling and loggingFamiliarity with concepts of functional programming (basic understanding sufficient)Real-world, Production-oriented ExperienceDemonstrated ability to develop, debug, and optimise code intended for live production environmentsPractical knowledge of Git (branching, merging, pull requests, conflict resolution)Solid experience with Docker containers (building, running, managing)Strong Communication and Stakeholder ManagementYou will regularly participate in technical and product discussions, contribute to sprint reviews, and present solutions to a global audience.Ways to stand out from the crowd.Cloud Deployment: Experience deploying ML applications using Google Cloud Vertex AI, Kubernetes, or Cloud RunCI/CD: Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Google Cloud BuildInfrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with Terraform is strongly preferredPractical A/B Testing Experience and Skills: Comfortable setting up experiments, interpreting results, and applying insights to product and model improvementsLife at THE ICONIC.From our ways of working to our growth mindset and sustainable approach, we each add unique value and have an incredible amount of fun doing it
