**Medical Research Assistant**
- **Part time position (up to 10 hours per week) for 12 months**:

- ** 5 weeks annual leave, salary packaging, central inner city location**
- ** Join a high performing Cardiology team**

**About the role**

Our Cardiology team is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated medical research assistant to transfer data from current Congenital Cardiac database to a new database. This position is ideally suited for a health sciences student studying in a clinical setting and/or a medical student in the last 2 years of their training.
- Data entry
- Sourcing of patient information including demographics, radiology and pathology reports from medical records
- Scanning data into database
- Transfer of the data requires understanding of complex congenital cardiac conditions and interventions.

**About you**
- Background medical knowledge in anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as a basic understanding of clinical medicine is essential.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or medical environment
- Proficient in IT programs including MS office suite and/or filemaker pro

**About us**

The Cardiology Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is in a growth phase with the opening of a new Cardiac Catheter Laboratory within the next couple of months. The Royal Melbourne Hospital is part of the Parkville precinct and is co-located with the Royal Women's Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The Parkville precinct uses and electronic medical record.
