**About the role**
The permanent part-time (16 hours per week) role of Staff Specialist Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the OPMH service at the Riverglen unit, Greenwich Hospital functions in a way that aligns with the Mission and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare, and to ensure that the medical and other care provided to patients in OPMH is of high quality.
Riverglen is a 20 bed older persons mental health inpatient unit, with patients mostly referred from the Lower North Shore, and Hornsby Kuringgai sectors. The unit is closely integrated with NSLHD OPMH services. The Riverglen consultants share an oncall roster with Macquarie Hospital consultants.
**Duties include**:
- Provide demonstrably high quality specialist services for OPMHs inpatient services
- To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission In Action of HammondCare;
- Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and undertake research in OPMHs as opportunities present.
**About you**
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
- Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry in Australia (AHPRA)
- FRANZCP or equivalent Consultant qualification, preferably also holding Fellowship of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age
- Demonstrated sound, effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
- Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
- Current Driver's Licence
- Research Qualification (desirable)
