Gallagher Bassett's service delivery model has been built to support **holistic** and **tailored** recovery and return to work (RTW) strategies to deliver superior outcomes. Our model focuses on **specialisation** and **segmentation** by injury type and claim duration, enabling alignment of the right skillset to the right role. Our specialists provide a vital role, supporting Case Managers to make great work capacity decisions. Key features of our model also include:
- Dedicated Hubs of Expertise who provide guidance and support for Case Managers;
- Opportunities to specialise in a specific Technical and Legislative functions;
- Centralisation of several Technical and Legislative functions to empower Case Managers to focus on recovery, RTW and service delivery;
- Variety of new and exciting career pathways across the lifecycle of a claim;
- Support to focus on high-value tasks through administrative and continuous improvement functions, decision support tools and innovative solutions.
Due to the ongoing evolution of our business, we are offering a new Technical Specialist opportunity with a specific focus on work capacity decisions.
In our expansion as a start up and disruptor to the current market since 2023, you will help the claim team build and grow their technical expertise, operations and processes.
**How you'll make an impact**
- Advise and provide technical support in the assessment of work capacity decisions;
- Provide guidance to the team to ensure all work capacity decisions issued are based on the best available evidence;
- Complete Internal Review requests in line with legislative requirements;
- Review of relevant case law, to ensure that the best decisions possible are being made,
- Ensure that all claims are reviewed at key compliance and legislative milestones;
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including case management and legal advisory personnel, legal practitioners, regulatory bodies etc around case management strategy and litigation matters;
- Coach and mentor case management personnel, and collaborate with our additional Mental Health, Complex Care and Rehabilitation support hubs;
- Participate in key business projects and initiatives.
**About you**
- Significant experience in technical or case management roles within a workers compensation setting, with demonstrated experience/specialisation in the assessment of work capacity;
- Understand the importance of Work Capacity Decision to promote early return to work;
- Experience with Work Capacity Decisions on long term claims to ensure compliance with legislative timeframes;
- A demonstrated ability to coach and develop claims managers;
- Ability to critically analyse expert reports and provide strategic support to claims teams;
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of organisation;
- A strategic mindset and approach to work;
- A strong sense of team and collaboration;
- A resilient attitude.
