**About the Role**
Due to our continuous growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Solutions Specialist to join us on a fixed-term contract for 2 years (with a view to converting into permanent).
Reporting to the Data Platform Technical Lead, the Data Solutions Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and documenting data product and service solutions on the SRG's core Data & Analytics Platforms (AWS, Snowflake).
In this role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Working with business stakeholders and Data Platform Team to lead the design of data solutions and data products/services.
- Breaking down solutions into work packages and tasks for data engineers, data testers, and BI developers as well as. Overseeing and reviewing solutions are built to design.
- Developing data models, ingestion pipelines and data products.
- Continuation of SRG's data platform uplift by establishing data lake capability, data classification program, and further enhancing semantic models to use/integrate with LLM's and BI Reporting.
This role is a senior member of the Data Platform team performing a key role in shaping SRG's data and analytics capability.
**About you**
We are looking for a Data Solutions Specialist with the ability to design and build data solutions and data products. In addition, you will have:
- Ability to lead a business concept from ideation to completion with measurable benefit.
- Hand-on experience with database schema design and dimensional data modelling (Kimball). Understanding of medallion architecture.
- Proficient with AWS services; strong understanding of IAM, S3, KMS, and creation of cloud infrastructure using Cloud Formation, Terraform etc.
- Demonstrated experience with Snowflake data cloud. Databricks experience is advantageous (future state platform).
- Advanced SQL scripting and data modelling skills.
- Development experience building data ingestion pipelines, data automation, and ELT/ETL solutions.
- Experience with large data volumes and design/development of performant data models with BI tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps.
- Familiarity with semantic layer architecture and tools for Business Intelligence and self-service reporting.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and share ideas, working with other team members to continue professional development.
Your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and strong customer focus will be key to this role.
