The role you would play

We have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven AOD Practitioner to provide an entry point to Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) services for people with AOD issues who reside in the Northwest, and Inner North Melbourne region, through assessing client need, identifying treatment options and creating holistic treatment pathways.

You will successfully
- Provide bridging and brief intervention support to clients who are awaiting assessment and treatment commencement
- Provide liaison, support and a range of interventions including case management to assist in improving the health & wellbeing for individuals, family members and significant others experiencing alcohol and other drug related harms to clients referred to Substance Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Program within The Salvation Army

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals based in Sunshine to ensure the delivery of high-quality services for people seeking AOD support.

This is a fixed term part time position (0.6EFT). This position is based in Sunshine and works as part of a team of Alcohol & Other Drugs Practitioners who are based across the Inner North and Northwest Catchment area. This position may also provide back up support to Alcohol & Other Drugs Practitioners and some travel may be required within the catchment area to support the coverage of service delivery.

What we're looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work or related discipline
- Minimum qualification Diploma Community Services
- Relevant experience in a social service environment
- AOD Skillset or obtain within the first 12 months of commencing employment
- Completed Forensic Fundamentals or obtain within first 6 months of employment
- Family Violence foundational, information sharing scheme and intermediate risk assessment training within the first 12 months. Refreshers as required or directed
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
