The Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) is a specialist, private, dual-sector Institute of Higher Education with a strong 30-year history of quality teaching and graduate outcomes. AIPC delivers fully-online Counselling degrees at Diploma, Bachelors, Graduate Certificate and Masters levels; it also delivers an online Bachelor of Social Work. As a specialist teaching-focussed Institute AIPC consistently outperforms the national university average score for Student Experience. AIPC is part of the UP Education group, which also includes Acknowledge Education and Endeavour College of Natural Health. **About the role**

The Dean - Higher Education will work closely with academic teams to support academic quality, integrity, review and improvements. The Dean will generate academic strategies and implement plans to improve efficiency while achieving quality student learning experiences.

The position is based in Brisbane and is permanent full-time (with 6 months' probation). 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE) would also be considered.

**About you**

The main responsibilities undertaken by the position include:

- Leading and supporting academic teams in delivering high quality higher education courses.
- Undertaking academic and course reviews and making appropriate recommendations and improvements.
- Developing and implementing plans for academic and course improvements.
- Inspiring and supporting excellent academic standards and service.
- Upholding a positive leadership approach that encourages academic quality and student satisfaction.
- Monitoring and reporting on academic outcomes, teaching and learning plans, and student metrics.
- Managing and participating in academic governance processes and committees.
- Developing academic leadership capability
- Enhancing student engagement and retention, particularly of mature-age online students

**The successful applicant will have**:

- A recognised PhD or Doctorate.
- Evidence of current and high-quality teaching skills in higher education contexts
- Excellent liaison, negotiation and collaborative capability
- Scholarly activity representative of the academic level.
