- This position will provide the successful applicant with opportunities to gain experience working in a well-supported multi-disciplinary team environment with a wide variety of acute surgical and medical patients. This role involves the provision of Social Work service, supervision and education of student and junior Social Workers and will be a member of our supportive team. The Social Work team consists of over 40 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties.

**Your new role**:

- Complete psychosocial assessments and provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families and/or carers in the acute hospital wards.
- Dedicated leave cover position, ensuring clinical care in periods of staff leave.
- You will be supported by team leaders (Grade 3) and clinical lead (Grade 4) on site.
- Be part of and contribute to a dynamic and progressive Social Work team and foster positive team and workplace culture as a grade 2 clinician.

**About you**:

- You are a qualified Social Worker (either current member or current eligibility for AASW) with work experience as a hospital Social Worker.
- You are an adaptable quick learner with proven ability to work autonomously in hospital environments.
- You are able to deliver excellent consumer focussed clinical care to patients and their carers.
- You have the experience and skills to mentor and supervise junior staff and students.
