**Job Description**:
As a XRF Department Manager based in Perth Airport, you will ensure the quality of all XRF sample analysis within the Perth Airport laboratory and nominated site laboratories and projects within Australia and the SEAP region as directed by SGS management.

Some other responsibilities will be:

- Administer the flow of work from sample arrival to final reporting of XRF results to the client.
- Control the daily XRF work schedule fully utilising staff and equipment.
- Liaise with other technical and quality control functions of the laboratory and group.
- Monitor manning and spending per shift to maximise revenue and L/C.
- Control the selection of fit-for-purpose, certified, reference materials for XRF work orders.
- Direct the timely calibration, maintenance and repair of XRF machinery and instrumentation to ensure production is not disrupted. Liaise with key suppliers such as PANalytical, Bruker etc.
- Provide technical support at a national and regional level including the commission and calibration of XRF systems at remote sites including HAG robotic fusion-TGA system (Herzog), XRF PANalytical Instruments, Furnaces (Modutemp, Claisse, etc), TGA (Leco, Eltra) & any related XRF equipment/services.
- Liaise and support WHSO in all aspects of OH&S
- Manage strategic transformation projects as directed by Laboratory Manager or regional management.

Additional Information
- Minimum experience of 6 years in Geochemical laboratories
- Sound experience in sample preparation of geological samples
- Sound experience in most, if not all, laboratory analysis areas with particular focus on XRF.
- Sound understanding of XRF equipment operation and maintenance
- Sound experience with CCLAS EL LIMS and other operational software
