**How will I help?**
The Executive Manager of Data Governance and Data Risk will play a pivotal role in the Chief Data Office, leading initiatives to enhance data governance, establish robust data controls, and manage data-related risks. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in data management and risk mitigation, who can effectively collaborate across departments to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of data assets.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- CDE Management: Lead the onboarding and ongoing management of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across the organization.
- Data Controls: Work with Business Control and Monitoring (BCM) teams to review data usage, data quality rules and requirements and improve data controls through the implementation of control recommendations
- Data Risk Management: become the key contact of assurance reviews by Line 2, Line 3 and external parties
- Data Quality Rules: Lead the design and implementation of robust data quality rules and standards to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of critical data.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in CDE management. Represent the Business and Wealth Chief Data Office in group wide forums relating to Policy review and improvement opportunities on data management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Data Platforms, business units, risk, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of data stewardship and ensure adherence to data management policies.
- Training & Awareness: Design and implement training programs to enhance understanding of data governance principles and practices across the organization.

**What do I need?**
- Extensive experience in data management operating at a similar role level, experience in data risk management and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in implementing data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering on time and within budget is a plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
