**The Role: Veterinary Nurse Assistant**:
As a Veterinary Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary nurses to deliver top-quality care to our patients. You'll gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals, from playful puppies and kittens to wise old companions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in animal healthcare, or for those with some experience wanting to develop their skills.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary nurses during consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Handling and restraining animals safely and compassionately
- Preparing and maintaining surgical instruments, equipment, and exam rooms
- Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, and other areas of the clinic
- Feeding, walking, and providing daily care for in-patient animals
- Assisting in the administration of medications and treatments as directed
- Monitoring animals' health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Communicating warmly and professionally with pet owners both in person and on the phone, answering their questions and offering support where needed
- Upholding our clinic's standards for cleanliness, safety, and animal welfare

**Experience & Qualifications**:

- No prior veterinary experience is required; however, experience working with animals is a plus
- Holding a certificate II/III in Animal Studies or currently studying Cert IV Veterinary Nursing is highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be physically fit and able to lift and handle animals of various sizes
