Established in 1964, the Animal Welfare League South Australia (AWL SA) is an iconic not for profit organisation operating as the state's largest animal shelter with more than 9,000 incoming animals a year. With a focus on re-homing of lost, surrendered and abandoned animals, AWL SA proudly provides animal welfare and care through the development and provision of high-quality services and centres for animals in need.

AWL SA is now seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for voluntary Board positions.

Responsibilities include:

- Attending and contributing to monthly Board meetings;
- Providing input and expertise to assist in the Board's decision-making;
- Identifying and developing initiatives to add value to AWL SA;
- Participating in special purpose sub committees;
- Reviewing governing activities and performance of business management;
- Ensuring that business decisions reflect and align with the organisation's Strategic Plan and values.
