Role Requirements
At Chevalier College, teachers strategically work in teams to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and
evaluate student learning. As such, they are required to:
- support and assist the mission of Catholic education in the way of Jules Chevalier and the Missionaries
of the Sacred Heart (MSC)
- see themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning
- work collaboratively with other teachers to design learning experiences where students exercise choice
- to demonstrate knowledge and understanding
- enhance social skills and nurture the growth of enterprise skills including learner agency, self-regulated
- learning, critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration for each student
- use summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to
- inform 'next steps' for key learning outcomes
- use digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student and teacher learning
- regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle
- be open to growth and development through professional learning experiences which include
- classroom observations, practice analysis conversations and input from Leaders of Learning
- uphold an extra-curricular commitment which requires afternoon coaching 2 days a week (14-15 weeks)
- and attendance at Saturday fixtures for 10-12 weeks for either a winter or summer season and,

- Enterprise Agreement 2023.
