As Chief Investment Officer (CIO), you will spearhead all investment-related activities, driving capital acquisition and identifying new investment opportunities to fuel the company's growth and innovation.Position SummaryThe Chief Investment Officer will develop and execute ChatHealth's investment strategy, ensuring the business is well-capitalised to achieve its strategic objectives.
Reporting directly to the founders, you will build relationships with venture capital firms, angel investors, private equity funds, and other strategic partners, while overseeing due diligence processes and compliance measures.
This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a proven track record in raising capital and structuring investment deals in high-growth industries.Key Responsibilities Capital Raising & Investment StrategyFundraising Plans: Formulate and implement strategies to secure equity or debt financing, balancing immediate capital needs with long-term sustainability.Investor Relations: Identify and nurture relationships with potential investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners to expand ChatHealth's capital network.Due Diligence: Oversee comprehensive due diligence processes, ensuring that all investment proposals align with ChatHealth's mission and financial goals.Financial Analysis: Collaborate with finance teams to prepare robust financial models, projections, and budgets that inform strategic decision-making.Performance Tracking: Provide regular updates to founders, highlighting key financial metrics, capital requirements, and investment performance.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards in all capital-raising activities.Portfolio Risk Management: Evaluate market, operational, and regulatory risks associated with potential investments, recommending mitigations or alternative funding strategies.Governance: Establish governance frameworks that align with ChatHealth's accountability standards and stakeholder expectations.Legal & Contractual Oversight: Collaborate with legal counsel to negotiate term sheets, manage contracts, and maintain thorough documentation of investment agreements.Strategic Collaboration & LeadershipExecutive Alignment: Work closely with the founders and senior leadership team to ensure investment decisions align with the overall business roadmap.Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with product, marketing, and clinical teams to forecast funding requirements and prioritise growth opportunities.Team Enablement: Share expertise and mentor emerging talent within the organisation, fostering a forward-thinking, high-performance culture.Required Qualifications & Experience Proven Capital-Raising Success: Demonstrated history of securing significant funding in fast-paced or high-growth environments.Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial modelling, market analysis, investment structuring, and regulatory requirements.Investor Relations: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse investor profiles.Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess broader market trends and translate them into actionable investment strategies for ChatHealth.Leadership & Influence: Skilled at guiding cross-functional teams and articulating the long-term value proposition of ChatHealth to external stakeholders.Preferred Background Background in venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance within the healthcare or technology sectors.Familiarity with AI-driven or digital health products, particularly in evaluating tech-based investment opportunities.Experience scaling early-stage startups, including navigating rapid growth, market expansion, and regulatory complexities.Location & Time Commitment Flexible location within Australia.Part-time role requiring a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with the potential to scale up as investment activities intensify.Why Join ChatHealth?
