**THE ROLE**

This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of road surfaces in the Singleton Local Government Area. Operating from within the Civil Operations Unit, this role undertakes road maintenance duties through the skilled operation of a JetPatcher/Paveliner. The position involves a high degree of preparation and maintenance of the truck, tools and other plant, and the responsibility of managing an offsider (Jetpatcher/Paveliner Operator). Additionally, it requires a high degree of planning of work and use of mobile technology.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- Certificate III Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) or equivalent relevant qualification or experience
- Demonstrated contemporary experience in road surface repair and treatment using Jetpatcher/Paveliner trucks, minor plant and equipment for road maintenance and pavement work.
- Proven ability and experience in managing a small team's performance
- Proven ability to use electronic devices such as tablets and computers to record maintenance activities in the field as well as administrative and safety tasks.
- Proven experience consulting, negotiating and influencing key stakeholders across multiple teams to achieve positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated numeracy, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers of Council
- Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans cards (formerly Yellow/Blue Traffic control cards)
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
- Current Class HR drivers licence

This position is offered on a permanent full-time basis working 38 hours per week.

Remuneration for this position is based on 10 of the salary system which equates to a base salary between **$72,088.12 to $81,089.84** per annum plus superannuation.
