**The role**:
Queensland Health recognises that progressing our digital health strategy is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, effective, and accessible healthcare to all Queenslanders.
Implementing an integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) across all public hospitals in Queensland is at the heart of our digital transformation and is essential to delivering care, closer to home. Already used in numerous facilities today, the ieMR is improving care and patient outcomes by offering Queensland Health clinicians access to real-time clinical information for their patients, at point of care.
Queensland Health is currently undertaking several of the largest health ICT programs and projects ever seen in Australia. The largest of these, the Digital Hospital Program (DHP) is a visionary program which continues to enable clinical services and enhance our technological capability by extending the availability of the ieMR into more hospitals and community care venues.
The Digital Hospital Program will deliver advanced ieMR to 5 Metro North hospitals over the first 5 years. In parallel Queensland Health will be adding over 2,811 additional hospital beds across the state, with four entirely new hospitals and expansions to 11 already world class facilities.
Reporting to the Technical Project Manager, the Project Officer will support and coordinate the delivery of work packages and projects, ensuring solutions delivered are responsive to customer needs and sustainable in an enterprise environment. You will have the ability to be flexible and quickly acquire technical knowledge in relevant End User Devices, Digital devices/peripherals and integrations while ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and the Queensland Health formal project management approach and methodologies, to enable the achievement of consistent and quality project outcomes.
Is this the opportunity for you?
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Experience in an IM/ICT project environment, including risk management, reporting and budgeting, and an ability to coordinate the delivery of work packages.
- Experience in, or the ability to assist with the compilation of program/project information, maintenance of program/project files and the preparation and presentation of management reports.
- Knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to provide advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools.
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification (e.g. PRINCE2) would be highly regarded.
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills, and an ability to work in a team environment developing effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks within agreed priorities, timeframes and accountabilities.
