Regional Manager - Labour Hire
Posted: 27/08/2025 Closing Date: 24/09/2025 Job Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Adelaide City Job Category: Community Services and Development
MADEC is a not-for-profit organisation, and for over 50 years has been providing a service delivery network across Australia. We believe a job can change a life and we are driven to help people in financial or social disadvantage. Through employment services, vocational training, labour hire, and other services and programs, we empower people; connect with support; enhance skills and confidence; and provide them with the opportunity to reach the goal of employment.
Job Description
Our Labour Hire Division continues to experience significant growth. We recruit and employ seasonal on-hire employees from the Pacific Island region each year under the Australian Government's Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme. In addition, we recruit a team of permanent on-hire workers from across all our regions. Our on-hire workforce is predominantly placed within the horticulture, fish, meat, cleaning and hospitality industries; however, we are planning to move into other diverse industries.
We are now looking to recruit a strong and experienced Regional Manager to provide management support and direction to our teams in South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.
The role
This is an exciting role that will suit the right candidate who has strong ties to the industries within these regions, a good understanding of the local labour market and the ability to manage our site-based teams across these regions. Your responsibilities include:
Grow regional labour-hire through targeted relationships and high-quality employment solutions
Manage client expectations, represent MADEC at industry events and report on performance data
Lead, coach and allocate workloads for regional staff to meet compliance and service targets
Hold regular team meetings, manage performance reviews and drive professional development
Oversee WHS systems and compliance responsibilities fostering a proactive safety culture
Coordinate compliant accommodation, transport, licensing requirements, etc
Oversea worker arrivals, inductions, pastoral care and enforce assignment and community guidelines
Attend state-wide forums to gather labour-market insights and promote Labour Services
Drive strategic goals, participate in continuous-improvement initiatives and uphold MADEC's Code of Conduct
Desired Skills and Experience
About you
You are a seasoned business development leader, or are currently a Regional Manager, with over five years' experience in leadership and management roles—ideally within labour hire, recruitment or client management. Ideally you have experience in or hold a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and a First Aid Certificate. Your resilient and robust approach to identifying and securing new business, combined with your ability to juggle multiple client accounts while maintaining meticulous attention to detail, equips you to drive outcomes in a competitive, challenging industry.
Your well-developed verbal and written communication skills, active listening capabilities and effective negotiation and conflict-resolution techniques enable you to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You're highly organised and proactive—able to set priorities, manage risk and work independently to meet deadlines while consistently delivering service excellence.
MADEC is committed to providing services that keep our clients free from harm—you will be required to maintain a current National Police Check and hold all relevant licences and certifications. Interstate and intrastate travel will be required to perform the role.
Benefits
An attractive remuneration package is on offer including a fully maintained company vehicle, as are the tools to do your job (phone, computer, ipad).
Joining MADEC you will become part of a safe, inclusive, and diverse community within a leading national provider of employment, education and support programs. We value you and offer the following:
Staff health and wellbeing
– free access to a holistic employee assistance and other wellbeing initiatives.
Increase your take home pay
– reduce your tax by taking advantage of our salary packaging benefit of up to $15,900 per annum
Additional leave benefits
– extra personal leave, bonus annual leave on long tenure
How to apply
To apply please include a covering letter detailing your reasons for applying for this position, as well as a current resume. You must hold permanent Australian working rights to be considered.
Be a part of MADEC
Our approach to diversity is simple: it's about embracing everyone. We are committed to creating a culture of belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, ages, nationalities, abilities and cultures to help deliver upon MADECs purpose and drive our success.
