**A LITTLE ABOUT THE ROLE**
Sika Australia is currently seeking an experienced
- **Legal Counsel & Compliance Officer** to fulfil this newly created in-house role, which will have you providing quality and timely legal advice to the business.
- You will be responsible for proper legal and compliance risks management and will ensure the implementation of and adherence to Sika Group's policies, directives, and procedures.
- You will be based at our head office in Wetherill Parl with occasional travel to our office in New Zealand as required.
- On-Site Parking. Full Time Perm Role. Autonomous and varied role. Immediate Commencement.

**MORE SPECIFICALLY YOU WILL**
Duties will include, but not be limited to:

- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements and other legal documentation in all areas of the business.
- Legal support relating to all product literature of Sika's businesses.
- Oversight of all claims concerning Sika's products and businesses.
- Oversight of all compliance investigations concerning Sika's businesses.
- Providing regular legal and risk management trainings to employees of Sika businesses.
- Corporate housekeeping (e.g. company records, filings, etc.).
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory developments relevant to Sika's businesses and products, in particular regarding product safety requirements.
- Liaising with the Corporate Legal Department at Sika's Group headquarters in Switzerland and the Asia-Pacific Regional Legal Counsel as required.

**We Need Your Skills**

**A LITTLE ABOUT YOU**

To be successful within this role, you will have:

- A Law degree from a University in Australia or New Zealand
- Hold a Bar admission in Australia or New Zealand
- A Minimum 3 years of post-qualification working experience as a company in-house counsel or at a law firm
- Experience in negotiating commercial agreements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A willingness to travel regularly within Australia and to New Zealand
- A "hands-on" attitude with a willingness to take the initiative to tackle the challenges, and a desire to provide practical solutions.
- Experience advising within the construction, mining, or manufacturing industries within a law firm or in-house is highly regarded._
