Role overview
We are seeking a senior Allied Health Professional with experience in complex case management, assessment, counselling and/or therapy, and within mental health or a relevant sector would be ideal. You will work within a well-supported, multidisciplinary team to provide clinical coordination, assessment and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of young people and their families/significant others who present with very high and complex care needs.
This newly created role will support an identified cohort of young people and the people/services involved in their care. These young people have complex mental health issues and, with specialist intervention, aim to change their life trajectory and improve quality of life outcomes.
Our aim
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service in Tasmania is growing. We are seeking passionate and dedicated senior clinicians to provide clinical services to children, young people and their families/significant others experiencing complex mental health concerns. These new positions will work alongside existing CYMHS services as part of the CYMHS reform program (Youth, Youth Forensic, Out of Home Care).
The Regional Complex Case Coordinator will have a passion for a person-centred approach and for working within a multidisciplinary team to provide high-level clinical coordination.
Responsibilities
Be part of a dynamic and well-supported team committed to delivering high-quality mental health services to children, young people, and their families/carers.
Provide specialist clinical coordination service that supports right place, right care principles to facilitate identified needs, and undertake high-level assessments and develop an individual plan that brings together the right mix of services across government and non-government agencies.
Promote a positive working culture by developing effective partnerships and strong working relationships with all stakeholders within the Agency and with external community service providers, delivering services that are person-centred, high quality, sustainable and responsive to ongoing quality improvement.
Collaborate with a diverse multidisciplinary team, including providing support and consultation to other team members as required.

Location
North: Based in Launceston CBD. Northern Tasmania offers natural beauty with easy access to Cataract Gorge, waterfalls, bush walks, beaches and mountain biking tracks. Launceston provides access to prestigious schools and the Tamar Region (kanamaluka).
North West: Based in Devonport or Burnie. The Northwest Coast offers beaches, bushwalks and recreational activities across its towns and cities.
Details of appointment
Fixed-term full-time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 25 June 2027.
Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies (full-time, part-time or casual).
Salary and allowances
Salary: $123,717 to $134,336 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
Allowances: access to salaries beyond $130,900 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.

Eligibility
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, or Degree in Social Work eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
