We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to staff and students in the School of Engineering and Built Environment at Griffith University.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, primarily focused on the disciplines of Architecture, Industrial Design and Planning. Key responsibilities include setting up, servicing and dismantling in-class laboratory and studio activities, as well as demonstrating techniques in operating equipment and instrumentation.
Provide technical support to assigned work areas, including setup, service and dismantling of laboratory and studio activities;
Demonstrate relevant techniques in operating equipment, product/prototype manufacture, finishing material selection and instrumentation;
Assist students and staff with the use and utilisation of specific equipment such as laser cutters, foam cutters, 3D printers and plotter printers;
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Planning, Industrial Design or an equivalent combination of relevant trade experience, training and skills;
Minimum 2 years experience in a position demonstrating similar skills;
Ability to operate and maintain specialized equipment, such as laser cutters, 3D printers, foam cutters and plotter printers;
Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and the Microsoft Office Suite;
Effective verbal and written communication abilities to provide clear instructions and collaborate with students, staff and external suppliers;

This is a continuing, full-time position based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith University is a multi-site university, you may be required to work across other locations.
