**About this position**

The City is committed to providing attractive, safe and well-maintained parks, public places and natural areas for passive and active recreation while protecting and conserving the natural environment.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated professional to lead a small team in the establishment and maintenance of horticultural landscapes, including turf and synthetic sports surfaces, to a high standard.

**In this role, you will**
- Provide horticultural technical expertise to support team members
- Plan and implement maintenance schedules while prioritising safety
- Operate and maintain equipment
- Train, motivate and manage team performance, fostering collaboration and adherence to the City values and safety practices
- Address and resolve on the job issues as they arise

**What we are looking for**

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Significant experience in a horticultural maintenance leadership role
- Strong ability to work effectively and contribute to a productive team
- Excellent interpersonal skills for positive and courteous customer interactions
- Solid problem-solving skills to address complex horticultural and parks operations issues

**Essential requirements**
- Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or equivalent
- Current MR driver's licence
- White Card

**Desirable requirements**
- Operator tickets for machinery such as loaders, forklifts and chainsaws.
