**Role**:
Reporting to the Australia & Singapore Head of Compliance & MLRO to enhance and further develop the Compliance team in the region. Assist the Head of Compliance & MLRO in the administration and execution of directives regarding compliance internal controls within the assigned region and help expand the region in accordance with the company business initiatives.
**The purpose of this position is**:
- to ensure that the Company is in compliance with the government regulations and company policies applicable to the financial services that the company provides in Australia.
- to keep the company abreast of new and upcoming regulatory developments.
- to produce reports required by law and regulation.
- to identify corrective/preventive actions to mitigate potential or actual non-compliance risks, ensuring a world-class operational/customer focused capabilities and regulatory compliance.
- to develop and implement policies and procedures necessary to ensure dissemination of knowledge of current and upcoming regulations concerning the Company's present business offerings and services as well as upcoming products and services.
**Responsibilites**:
General
- Execute directives from the Global Compliance and/or Australia Head of Compliance & MLRO
- Investigate ad hoc issues assigned by Global Compliance and/or the Australia Head of Compliance & MLRO
- Assist the Head of Compliance & MLRO in administering the relevant compliance obligations and regulatory agencies
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant global and local government regulatory and corporate governance standards.
Primary
- Ensure Company's AML/CTF program and policies are fully executed and in compliance with all applicable law and regulation.
- Ensure that products, policies and practice are compliant with law and regulations;
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for department;
- Communicate with supervisor, company executives and internal staff on any and all changes, additions and future developments concerning legal and regulatory obligations;
- Make certain that all government-required reports are completed appropriately and within timeframes.
- Oversee the monitoring of transactions for potentially suspicious activity;
- Other duties as assigned
Regulatory
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies and programs as per regulators and internal company policy requirements.
- Ensure all required policies, procedures and controls (relevant regulatory and corporate governance standards) are implemented and maintained on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory changes and reforms and lead and participate in regulatory and compliance projects as required.
- Maintain compliance with licence conditions of the regulatory licences held within the Asia Pacific region.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the relevant internal compliance manuals.
- Monitor and review all compliance requirements as required under the relevant regulatory and corporate governance standards.
Support
- Implement, maintain and perform testing on company Key Performance and Risk Indicators and update as necessary
- Provide internal reporting and analytics to assist in the management of the Compliance department.
- Assess the impact of legislative changes to the business and ensure the relevant business units are fully informed.
Training
- Track and direct internal training programs
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
**Required Experience**
- Ability to assess business and compliance outcomes to support the delivery of an effective compliance monitoring program and review current compliance controls in place.
- Compliance background within the financial services industry.
- Experience in the payments, foreign exchange and OTC derivatives industry is highly regarded but not essential.
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar compliance analyst role and adept at liaising with stakeholders within the business.
- Extremely driven and proactive, possess excellent time management, organisational, written and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, persistence and original thought.
- Past exposure to APAC regulators is a plus but not essential.
