Rabobank has an opening for a Network and Communications Specialist to join the Network and Communication Services team in Sydney. You will join a highly engaged team who work in a hybrid mix of working from home and the Rabobank CBD office.
The team is responsible for Rabobank's APAC Region Core Network (Wired and Wireless), Call Centres and Branch Network for IP Telephony. The Network & Communications Specialist will fulfil support and project work.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Network Administration_
- Maintain good working relationship with all providers of Telecommunications services
- Develop processes and structures for Service Providers to meet Service Level Agreements
- Design, develop and maintain a stable network infrastructure (Core & Edge) consistent with the corporate goal of 99.9% availability
- Ensure network is secured from unauthorized access, virus infection or any security vulnerabilities and work with Management to conform to Rabobank Standards and Policies
- Provide advice on enabling advance services with a focus on customer experience and savings on cost delivering return on investment
- Be a part of the On-call Team proving on-call services to the Bank 24x7 on a monthly basis or as required. But also be available to assist in case of converged or data network emergencies whilst not being on-call
- Data Centre Administration_
- Provide day to day management of facilities and IT infrastructure within the primary and secondary Data Centres within Oceania
- Provide support to the ITI teams for implementation of infrastructure and project planning within the Data Centres, including the co-ordination and supervision of contractors and suppliers
- Contact and interface between Rabobank and the Data Centre providers for the management of the facilities and infrastructure - Inclusive of out of hours emergency issues
- Be the primary contact for third parties who are engaged to render a service at the Data Centres. Responsible for the co-ordination of all work carried out at the Data Centre by Rabobank or Third party staff
- Capacity planning at the Data Centres for space, power, cooling, fibre and Ethernet connectivity.
- Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) asset registry for all equipment residing at the Data Centres
- Maintain the Data Centre tools used to administer the facilities
- Provide strategy and overall design of the primary and secondary data centres
**Experience and Skills You Will Bring to the Role**:
- Approximately 5 years' experience in Network Specialist /Engineer role
- Proven LAN/WAN troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of Nexus and Cisco Catalyst products plus vendors including F5, Juniper, Checkpoint
- Experience with remote network management and monitoring tools
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking professional) either in wireless, routers/switches or security
- Experience in managing converged network services highly regarded
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focussed team player
