**Job Overview**:
An EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that an organization complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations by developing and implementing policies and programs. They also assess potential risks and implement strategies to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents.
**EHS job responsibilities**:
- **Develop and implement safety programs**: Create and implement safety plans, and train employees on safety procedures
- **Conduct inspections**: Inspect equipment and workplaces to identify hazards
- **Monitor compliance**: Ensure that the company complies with regulations and standards, including monitor chemical usage, hazardous material classification, quantity and report Tier II and also EPA Form R review.
- **Manage hazardous materials**: Oversee the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- **Injury management**: employee care and clinic visits, as needed. Ensure first report of injury and proper communication to third arty adjustor (workers compensation)
- **Prepare reports**: Prepare environmental compliance reports and permits, including without limitations OSHA and local agencies require current chemical inventory, reports to Fire Department, EPA Form R review and Tier II reporting
- **Handle complaints**: Handle employee complaints and grievances related to EHS
- **Represent the company**: Represent the company with regulatory agencies, including without limitations:
- City of Logan Public Works for wastewater
- Cache County Fire Dept (FD) for fire inspection and hazmat inspections
- State inspectors for Dept of Env. Quality (air, wastewater )
- UOSHA (safety/labor laws, cranes, hoists, haz comm)
- Internal inspections, audits for specific programs,.i e. Lockout/Tagout, hazardous material storage/labeling/secondary containment
- **Development of training materials**: Develop training materials and test participants' knowledge as needed, train the trainer program
- **Security Safety**:Maintain and control employee identification ,entry, and time system interface cards
- **Corporate Sustainability Manager**: Assist Corporate Sustainability Manager with information pertaining to operations, emissions, waste information such as quantities of solid waste, hazardous waste, clarifier waste and other required information
**Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred
- Minium 3 to 5 years of related experience in an EHS role at a high-volume manufacturing facility is required and proper experience in lieu of degree
**Physical Requirements**:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections, use of ladders to elevated work surfaces 10 feet or higher
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
**SKILLS**
- EHS coordinators need to have good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to use technology.
- Proficiency in use of computer software such as MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Working knowledge of industrial hygiene, hazardous material management
**COMPENSATION**
$70 hourly (Part-Time)
