The role of Financial Business Partner plays a crucial part in the financial sustainability of our organization.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated individual to support the financial needs of our team. As a key member, you will provide expert financial information, insights, and guidance to senior leaders and business units across the organization.
Understand and analyze business drivers and financial performance for the medical research sector
Identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and financial risks
Collaborate with senior leaders to review financial performance and develop interventions
Use tools like Power BI to analyze trends and financial impacts
Assist with business case development and capital expenditure processes
Reconcile grants and projects, support finance best practices, and build financial literacy
Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts for the organization
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensure ledger integrity
Provide D365 training, triage business requests, assist with process improvement
Support management and development of Assistant Accountant
About You
We require a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a minimum three years of relevant experience in health, research, or a similar sector. The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent time management skills
Proficient in Australian Accounting Standards and strategic decision-making
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to build relationships, meet deadlines, and problem-solve
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
Skilled in budgeting, reporting, and cash flow management using intelligent tools
Familiarity with financial issues in the health research sector, desired
Experience in post-award financial management of research funding, desired
