The opportunity
Working closely with the hospitality team, you will work within a supportive team environment but still have autonomy in your day to be responsible for delivering resident-centric care in a timely and compassionate manner, enabling residents to live a happy, healthy and safe life in our homes. This role is ideal for individuals studying cookery who want hands-on experience in a supportive and rewarding setting.
Role Responsibilities
As an integral part of our aged care facility, the Kitchen Assistant helps ensure the well-being of residents by preparing and delivering nutritious meals in a professional and efficient manner.
Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet the individual needs of each resident, including special dietary requirements, as instructed by the Head Chef. Crafting well-balanced and nutritious meals is central to our service.
Demonstrate excellent safety awareness, adhering to hygiene and sanitation protocols in food preparation and serving areas to meet regulatory standards.
Bring genuine care and compassion to meal times, making each dining experience enjoyable for our elderly residents.
Contribute to a positive team environment; arriving on time, staying informed, and supporting colleagues to keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Qualifications
Eligible to work in Australia and living in the local community.
Prior experience in preparing and delivering meals in a commercial environment.
Must have NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to apply for one (at your own cost; card is valid for 5 years).
