**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Our client has a part to play in achieving common purpose.
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities carried out in the workshop facility in Brisbane ensuring they are done in accordance with services site standards. You will be required to carry out mechanical repairs, refits, and maintenance to our equipment to the highest quality under mínimal supervision. Your key accountabilities will be:
**Workshop - Mechanical**
- Carry out the mechanical repairs of structural and non-structural components (ferrous and non-ferrous)
- Provide assistance in other general duties as requested, including mechanical component refurbishment work.
- Maintain a high standard of personal competency in the skills required of a mechanical fitter.
- Ensure all equipment and tooling conform with the relevant state legislative requirements.
- All fitting and repair work to reflect the company services" high-quality standards.
- Prioritise projects to ensure completion within the deadline.
- Work in a safe manner in a workshop or on the customer site to ensure HSEQ requirements are met.
- During peaks of high workload, subcontractors may be used to ensure project deadlines are met. During these times the Workshop Coordinator will work with and supervise said contractors to ensure the services' high standards in relation to HSEQ are being met.
- Identify and advise on product development and improvement opportunities.
- Carry out quality checks on manufactured goods received.
- Produce Work packs for each new activity undertaken in the workshop, ensuring they are done in accordance with the company services site standards.
- Be responsible for subcontractors attending the Services Brisbane workshop ensuring that they all work in accordance with the company's services site standards.
**Workshop - Stores**
- Manual handling of incoming and outgoing goods as required.
- Notifying staff of the arrival of goods.
- Provide quality service in serving clients at the delivery counter and in response to client enquiries.
From time to time, at the request of the Purchasing officer assist with:
- Picking of goods from storage as per bill of materials supplied by Purchasing Officer.
- Packing of goods, ensuring Quality and accuracy of items being sent to the customer.
- Organise dispatch of domestic and international freight.
- Receiving and checking deliveries against orders.
- Maintain a register of deliveries.
- Follow up with staff and suppliers for goods incorrectly delivered.
**Workshop - Housekeeping**
- Maintaining a good standard of housekeeping practices in the workshop:
o Ensuring work areas are clean and free from clutter.
o Tools, when not in use, are left in a safe condition and in their designated area.
o Forklift parked in Forklift Bay when not in use.
o Equipment is serviced in accordance with the relevant Standards and Services HSEQ Standards.
**Site Assistance**
- Occasional travel maybe required to sites in Gladstone and Newcastle or any other location as required by the company to assist with onsite maintenance and repairs as per client and project requirements.
**HSEQ**
- Adhere to all policies and follow procedures as outlined within the HSEQ Management System.
- Consider quality and safety in all work performed.
- Ensure current safe work procedures/hazard assessments are followed before work commences and to work in accordance with new safety systems and procedures as they are implemented.
- Intervene when misbehavior, faulty or obsolete materials could create an injury risk, an illness or an environmental impact.
- Maintain and use the correct Personal Protective Equipment required for the task being performed.
- Report any fault, incident, injuries or EHS non-conformances and any potential safety hazards.
Under the direction of the Projects & Engineering Manager, you will join a team of women and men who are passionate about their work, proud of being pioneers and building the industry of the future together.
Our client is located in the ever-expanding industrial area of Luscombe, with easy access from the M1.
**Essential Criteria**:
- Certificate III Mechanical Engineering or higher.
- With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance industry.
- Experience working within the heavy machinery industry is desirable.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good interpersonal skills with a customer focus and are able to multitask and prioritize work requirements.
