This role will be based in our Melbourne CBD office.

**What will be my responsibilities?**

The Design Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and will work closely with the System Architect and SW development Manager to coordinate all the respective Design activities of the assigned Projects.

The tasks and responsibilities of the Design Manager will be:

- To have the authority and responsibility for issues related to the Design Documentation
- To ensure that appropriate comments received on Design Documentation are considered and applied across all future Design Documentation submissions
- To liaise with the appropriate Designer of each M&E subsystem requiring a Control and Monitoring specification
- To carry out coordination with customer, other contractors, involved authorities, system assurance and R&D teams concerning the system interfaces
- To contribute to the technical architecture and interface with 3rd party systems
- To form, develop and manage the Design Team with the target to provide the defined Design deliverables, in accordance with the Contract Requirements and the relevant standards, rules and regulations
- After the Design is approved, he/she will assume the role of the Testing & Commissioning Manager with the below responsibilities:

- Responsible for managing all Acceptance and Integration tests
- Responsible for the corresponding Post Design Deliverables (e.g. as-built documentation)
- Responsible for delivering the Operation & Maintenance manuals
- Responsible to manage, control and coordinate the training programme

**What do I need to qualify for this job?**
- More than 8 years of working experience in relevant roles for large infrastructure projects
- In depth knowledge of international standards and local regulations that apply
- Working experience in Victoria is of advantage, but not a must
- University Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related fields
- Be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to foster a positive work environment
- Able to effectively develop key working relationships with customers and partners
- Be self-dependent with a high level of initiative, impact and result-orientation
- Possess excellent written, verbal and communication skills in English

**What else do I need to know?**
- International project experience and experience in other tunnel projects in Australia will be considered as an asset
