Principal Traffic Engineer | RedSquare Traffic

RedSquare Traffic delivers a wide range of traffic engineering, traffic management, and data collection services. Our expertise includes Traffic Engineering Reports, Car Parking Demand Assessments, Traffic Management Plans, Traffic Impact Assessments, Access Designs, Car Parking Layouts & Management Plans, and Traffic Surveys & Counts. We support projects from early feasibility through planning and delivery. During feasibility stages, we provide technical guidance on car parks, access paths, driveways, subdivisions, and intersections. As projects progress, we assist with Planning Permit applications, leveraging our experience in traffic engineering and parking assessments. During delivery, we support traffic management planning, disruption management, road safety audits, and all aspects of transport-related project delivery.

To meet the demands of an expanding project portfolio, we are seeking a motivated Undergraduate Traffic Engineer with a strong interest in traffic engineering and transport planning. The role is initially part-time (minimum 2-3 days per week) with potential to become permanent. For the right candidate, this position is expected to progress into a Graduate Traffic Engineer role at the start of next year.

Responsibilities
  • Support feasibility studies and planning activities related to car parks, access paths, driveways, subdivisions, and intersections.
  • Assist with Planning Permit applications and parking assessments.
  • Contribute to traffic management planning, disruption management, road safety audits, and transport-related project delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on project delivery tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • A passion for traffic engineering and transport planning.
  • A basic knowledge of traffic and transport engineering.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Australian Tax File Number (TFN).
  • Basic CAD skills (preferable, not essential).
  • Experience using satellite imagery (Google Maps, Nearmap, etc.).
  • Ability to dedicate at least 2-3 days per week while balancing educational commitments.
Employment details
  • Part-time (minimum 2-3 days per week) with potential to become permanent.
  • Opportunities to progress into a Graduate Traffic Engineer role at the start of the following year.
