**The role and what we are looking for**

As Program Manager you will be accountable for a group of interdependent projects that are relatively medium to high complexity. There will be a focus on the creation of the program vision; planning documents and managing the integration, implementation, reporting, and performance of the overall program on time, within budget, and to scope.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Planning the overall program, scope and monitoring the progress; Plan and lead the delivery of a range of information gathering, analysis, and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on project deliverables.
- Defining the program governance (controls);
- Clarify roles and responsibilities within the project team and ensure project compliance with the organization's wider program and/or portfolio management decision-making structures and processes.
- Managing the program's budget;
- Managing stakeholders' communication;
- Managing the main program documentations such as the program initiation document.
- Developing and implementing strategy for the program team, including developing a robust risk mitigation plan
- Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
- Working with the HR team to manage staff and resources for programs
- Liaising with the Change and communications team to increase awareness of programs
- Working with the business change manager or equivalent on the transition to the new business as usual position
- Reporting the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the agreed governance bodies
- Project Benefit Realization Deliver baseline assessments and post-implementation analyses to evaluate and track the realization of business benefits.
- Project Team Management - Leads large project teams (or multiple small to medium teams); defines the project vision and communicates the outcomes needed along with guidance to achieve outcome, coordinates team actions across project activities; coordinates flow of additional team members on and off the team as needed; and builds the capability of the team through training, coaching and mentoring.

**Project Management**

From time to time the Program Manager will be responsible for running projects within their programs depending on the size and complexity of the project.
- Planning the Project, including scope sign off, detailed project plan, resource planning and reporting
- Implement the Project as per PMO Project Management policy, framework and processes
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments in project plans as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project; and
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Control the project by writing status reports on the project for the key project stakeholders and PMO; Monitor all budgeted project expenditures;
- Evaluate the project - Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality; and
- Risk & Issue Management - Make recommendations concerning the organisation's risks as it relates to the current IT system and escalating risks where required.

**Experience & Skills**
- At least 3 to 5 years experience in managing medium to large programs
- At least 7 years' experience leading project teams
- Sound knowledge of IT infrastructure and IT technologies
- Sound knowledge of Project/Program management frameworks & AgilePM methodology

**Qualifications**
- Possess a suitable certification and/or relevant tertiary qualifications in Program Management/ Project Management or AgilePM, PRINCE2 certification desirable.
