Role Overview
As a volunteer Youthmix Mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people as they navigate their career paths. You will work closely with your mentees to help them set goals, develop skills, explore career options, and overcome challenges. Your role will involve building positive relationships, offering constructive feedback, and connecting mentees with relevant resources and opportunities.
Responsibilities
Build trusting and supportive relationships with assigned mentees
Assist mentees in setting realistic career goals and developing action plans to achieve them
Provide guidance and advice on career exploration, educational opportunities, and skill development
Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to help mentees overcome obstacles and stay motivated
Connect mentees with relevant resources, networks, and opportunities in their chosen field
Maintain regular communication with mentees to track progress and address any concerns or issues that arise
What you'll need
Passion for working with young people and helping them succeed
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude
Ability to listen actively and provide constructive feedback
Possess a minimum of one year work experience or more
Previous mentoring or coaching experience is preferred but not required
