About the Role

Are you ready to power Australian life and join a team that is leading the renewable energy transition? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Officer to support the maintenance of our wind turbine blades ensuring the right routines & operational decisions are made in order to have them running at peak capacity.

Key Responsibilities
- Development of Technical Documents: e.g. Work Instructions for blade repairs, Equipment and material storage guidelines/instructions and other technical documents related to operations and maintenance of WTG blades.
- Interaction with OEMs and 3rd Party Blade Service Providers.
- Management of Blade Damage Backlog: Tracking AGL's blade fleet health, defects and supporting in operational decision making and risk management.
- Blade Report Interpretation: Including providing rulings on which damage observations warrant immediate turbine shutdown.
- Repair Recommendations: Providing detailed guidance on how repairs should be executed.
- Technical Support: Advising technicians in the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wind turbine blades.
- Field Supervision Support: As required, from time-to-time support supervision of blade field activities including auditing and CCCs
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Lead development of JSEAs and other blade related technical safety documentation in line with Wind Safe Systems of Work requirements.

About You

You will be a Wind Turbine Blade Technician and hold relevant tertiary trade qualifications. You will be a team player, ready to take on the challenge of mentoring, training and being an SME in our wind portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience
- High degree of expertise in blade damage report interpretation and repair recommendations.
- Familiarity with general planning and coordination methods
- Strong communication skills for successful liaison at all levels.
- Valid Driver's license.
- Working at heights, GWO training and HV/LV rescue certifications are highly regarded.
