Position The purpose of hiring HD Mechanic / General Motor Mechanic includes but not limited to the identification of defective or worn mechanical components or equipment, repair/replacement of worn/faulty components or equipment, and modifications in all aspects of mobile maintenance mining equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Complete plant and equipment pre-starts
At commencement of shift attend daily pre-start meetings
Perform workshop inspections
Maintain, overhaul and repair machinery and equipment
Complete tasks safely and in a timely manner as per instruction
Complete necessary job documentation
Complete daily Time and Expense sheets and record all consumables
Complete all relevant safety documentation
Report and assist in the analysis of incidents or potential hazards
Perform all jobs as per "Safe Operational Procedures"
Maintain equipment and tag if faulty
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Wash and clean LV, trucks and equipment as required for Field Service selection
Qualifications – Licences, Certificates & Competencies
Trade Certification – Heavy Mobile Plant, Diesel or similar
Minimum HR Driver's Licence
EWP Certificate
LF Certificate
Working at heights ticket – desirable completed in the last 2 years
Confine Space ticket - desirable completed in the last 2 years
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
Prior experience with mobile plant maintenance
Prior experience with cut mining desirable
Thorough understanding of earthmoving equipment
Verbal and written communication skills
Critical Behaviours
Work autonomously
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Professional at all ties
Pass all medical testing and site clearance requirements
Can do, will do, done safely ethos
