The Health Information Services Officer will require the ability to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, including shifts until 6.00pm.
Part-time hours are available for consideration for the right applicant.Reporting to the Health Information Services Team Leader, the Health Information Services Officer is responsible for the day-to-day functionality of the Health Information Services department.
The duties of the Health Information Services Officers will primarily consist of maintaining medical records including:Compiling medical records of discharged patients, ensuring all forms are in the correct orderRetrieval of medical records from off-site storage and collections from wardsSorting and filing of medical records in main file in terminal digit filing orderCulling of medical records to be moved to our offsite storage facilityManagement of incoming telephone callsSorting and filing of incoming correspondence, reports and resultsProvision of health information to internal and external clients according to Healthscope's Release of Information policy.Selection Criteria:Excellent customer service skillsWell-developed oral and written communication skillsAbility to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and Outlook)Attention to detail.Desirable Criteria:Experience in an administrative role in a health care settingExperience with WebPAS Patient Administration SystemUnderstanding of patient privacy and confidentiality principlesKnowledge of medical terminology.Why Healthscope?
